Some engagement sessions just feel easy.
Not because of perfect weather or the dreamiest light (although we definitely had both), but because of the people standing in front of the camera. Hannah and Colin walked into this session with the kind of quiet confidence that only comes from genuinely enjoying each other's company. There was no pressure to perform, no need to force a smile—just two people completely content to be together.
As the evening sun dipped lower over the field, everything slowed down.
Golden light spilled through the trees, the breeze danced through the tall grass, and these two simply existed together. They held hands, laughed between prompts, stole quiet moments when they thought no one was watching, and reminded me that the best photographs aren't created—they're felt.
What I loved most about their session was how effortlessly they balanced tenderness with playfulness.
One moment they were wrapped up in a quiet embrace, forehead to forehead, and the next they were wandering through the field hand in hand, smiling at one another like they had the whole world to themselves, or my favorite - he was opening his button down shirt to romance her with his belly button.
There wasn't a single "perfect pose" that made this gallery special.
It was the little things.
The way Colin looked at Hannah before she even noticed.
The way Hannah naturally leaned into him every chance she got.
The way their laughter filled the open field as the sun disappeared behind the trees.
Those are the moments that tell a love story.
I always tell my couples that engagement sessions aren't about creating a highlight reel for social media—they're about documenting this season before everything changes. The excitement, the anticipation, the slow countdown to forever. One day these photographs will remind them of what life felt like before they became husband and wife, and that's something worth preserving.
The warm summer evening couldn't have been more fitting for these two. The rich greens, golden sunlight, and peaceful countryside created the perfect backdrop, but honestly, Hannah and Colin could have stood anywhere and the result would have been just as beautiful. Their connection is what made these images come alive.
Also, IT WAS FLIPPING HOTTER THAN HELL AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN COMPLAIN.
Looking through this gallery, it's impossible not to notice how comfortable they are together. Love doesn't always have to be loud. Sometimes it's found in a gentle hand squeeze, a soft smile, or simply standing close enough that silence says everything.
Those are my favorite stories to photograph.
Hannah and Colin, thank you for trusting me to capture this chapter of your lives. It was such a joy getting to know you both, and if your engagement session is any indication of what's to come, your wedding day is going to be filled with so much love, laughter, and meaningful moments.
I truly can't wait to celebrate alongside you both as you begin your next chapter.
Here's to forever—and all the beautiful moments in between. 🤍
